Advice on environmental protection

Disposal of batteries

For customers in EU countries

Some of our devices contain one or more batteries or accumulators (hereinafter referred to uniformly as "the battery"). These batteries are subject to The European Directive 2006/66/EC on (old) batteries and (old) accumulators as well as the corresponding national laws. The Battery Directive provides the framework for EU-wide treatment of batteries.
The batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out waste bin. Below this symbol is also the name of the pollutants contained, namely 'Pb' for lead, 'Cd' for cadmium and 'Hg' for mercury.
Batteries must not be disposed of via normal household waste. As an end-user, you must dispose of used batteries through the manufacturer, the retailer or the local collection points specifically set up for this purpose (legal return obligation); the levy is free of charge. Retailers and manufacturers are obliged to take back used batteries and recycle them properly or to dispose of them as hazardous waste (legal obligation to take back). You are also welcome to return the batteries purchased from us to us free of charge after use. If you do not hand over the batteries in person, please ensure that the return is adequately franked.
Proper disposal of the battery avoids negative effects on humans and the environment, serves the targeted treatment of pollutants and enables the reuse of valuable raw materials.
